Connections end-to-end review: updated proposals and next steps

Ofgem are looking to reform DNO standards of service to improve the connection journey for connecting customers. The changes aim to achieve two key outcomes – greater standards or service, and timelier connections, for generation, storage and demand customers connecting to the grid. Community energy organisations are encouraged to respond.
Regional Energy Strategic Planning Methodology Consultation
NESO
Deadline: 16 January 2026
The National Energy Systems Operator (NESO) are consulting on the methodology of RESP, which is set to be published in summer 2026, subject to Ofgem and DESNZ approval. This methodology will be used to produce the first set of nine RESPs in England, one in Scotland and one in Wales.
Regional energy strategic planning is a fundamental step in NESO’s ambitions to deliver a whole-system approach to strategic energy planning in GB, which focuses on local priorities and needs.
